Solo Exhibition at Schaefer Gallery, Gustavus Adolphus College
I am happy to announce the opening of my solo exhibition at the Schaefer Gallery at Gustavus Adolphus College. The exhibition is open May 5 - 30. There will be an opening reception on Friday, May 6, 5:30-7pm. Please join me for an artist lecture on Thursday, May 5 at 4:30pm in the FAA Lecture Theater. The Schaefer Gallery is open daily 9am - 5pm.
These pieces are a continuation of the ideas from my two recent shows at Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral and Hillstrom Museum of Art, but with a more specific theme. These paintings and prints use imagery from Saint Peter and the Twin Cities to examine the concept of destination, and how Saint Peter functions as a destination along highway 169.
This exhibition is the culmination of a year-long internship in the Gustavus Department of Art and Art History. I've spent the last eight months working as the Studio Lab Tech, assisting professors in running the department, and working on a portfolio of new work. The environment has been very conducive to making art, and I have enjoyed the mentorship and critique of many of the artists in the department.
